The University of Calgary track and field team boasts many accomplished athletes both academically and athletically.  It has the highest number of Academic All-Canadians of any varsity team.  Recent accomplishments include winning the 2007 CIS Women’s national track and field championship, and numerous Canada West conference championships. A recent grad is Jessica Zelinka, who broke numerous records in leading her team to the title, and earned CIS MVP honours, and the BLG award as the best university athlete in the country, from any sport.  More recently, the stars of the team included Sam Effah and Amonn Nelson, both multiple national champion sprinters and national team members.

This program has seen both current and past athletes and coaches represent Canada at the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games, World Cross-Country Championships, Pan-American Games, and the World Track and Field Championships.  The Dino Dash ensures the continued success of these athletes, and allows them to give back to the community.
